PRODUCT CARE
After thorough R&D at our workspace, we state these product care instructions. These might help you to support the slow fashion revolution and sustain your wardrobe for a longer period.
1. 100% Cotton
At PHLAR, we use 100% cotton fabrics in garment manufacturing. The crop is naturally produced, processed, and transformed into yarns/threads/fabrics. To provide cotton comfort throughout the year, we use various cotton(counts)varieties across the seasons.
2. Shade drying
To prevent color saturation we strictly recommend shade dry the products for longevity. Direct sunlight causes the color to evaporate with the water. Hence, the product might look pale/discolored.
3. Do not bleach
Do not wash the products with solvents/solutions. Also, never soak a product for more than 10 minutes in any detergent.
4. Dry-clean only
We strictly recommend the products be dry-cleaned for the first time, as it increases the life span of fabric. Also, the color seizes its sheen.
5. Do not tumble
Because the products are 100% cotton, the fabrics tend to lose their weave, and garments de-shape, when tumble dried. Do not tumble dry/tight twist dry for products to last longer.
6. Hand-wash separately
We suggest to hand-wash the products separately. To prevent :
– Dis-coloration
– Fabric pilling
7. Maximum Temperature (30 C)
It is advisable to iron the garment at or below 30 degrees Celsius. Passing more heat/pressure through the garment results in the deterioration of fabric fibers.
Our products are mostly hand-woven in fabrics ranging from Hand spun Linens, Cotton, and silk to organic cotton. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products you may find variations and irregularities in the fabric, which are not necessarily defects but are integral to and characteristic of handloom.
All-natural dyed fabrics are prone to bleeding in the first 2-3 washes. Naturally dyed fabrics need special care owing to the properties of the dyes. Please dry all the colored clothes in shade and wash them separately in cold water.
